How to compare PDF files?
Can I compare scanned PDFs?
Currently, the algorithm extracts encoded text layers from proper PDF documents. To check scanned PDFs or images lacking a real native text layer, please run them through an OCR application beforehand to yield trackable characters.
Is PDF formatting preserved?
Our free PDF comparator revolves around uncovering text differences (agreements, quotes). Thus, complex page formatting, watermarks, stamps, and raster images are purposefully ignored to provide a clean diff report.
Where do my PDF files go after comparison?
Any PDF files that you upload, including highly confidential NDAs, are loaded into memory momentarily for parsing and immediately dropped from the server right after the comparison view is generated.
